Nuffield Canada welcomes FCC and the Western Grains Research Foundation
February 18, 2016 - Farm Credit Canada (FCC) and the Western Grains Research Foundation (WGRF) have joined Nuffield Canada as sponsors in 2016, expanding the opportunities for program growth and increased opportunities for prospective scholars.
Nuffield Farming Scholarships are awarded to individuals with a passion for agriculture and a desire to expand their knowledge through a multi-week program of international study. A key component of their commitment is the sharing of their findings with others.
“The main goal of Nuffield Canada is to grow leadership capacity in agriculture,” said Nuffield Canada Chairman Kelvin Meadows. “The support of FCC and the WGRF, with their profile and outreach, is a tremendous asset to our program. We’re very excited to welcome them to the team.”
Farm Credit Canada’s support will focus on program awareness, marketing and communication. FCC looks forward to the ability to access many well-known Nuffield Scholars as speakers in its extensive educational program offerings.
”We are proud to sponsor Nuffield Canada and its scholar program as it opens the doors to furthering knowledge and innovation in Canada’s agriculture industry,” said Todd Klink, Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer at FCC. “At FCC, we understand the value that innovation and knowledge sharing brings to a progressive, complex and dynamic ag industry.”
The Western Grains Research Foundation scholarship will be available to scholars directly involved in the Western Canadian field crop sector, preferably a producer, or an individual actively involved in the sector through extension or research whose research topic will focus on the field crop sector.
“This partnership with Nuffield Canada is an investment in people,” says Dave Sefton, WGRF Board Chair. “Nuffield Scholarships offer education and exposure to new ideas, products, services, technologies, and marketing approaches that will help future leaders influence and shape our agriculture communities.”
FCC and WGRF join the Grain Farmers of Ontario and Glacier Media as Nuffield Canada sponsors, in a growing list of organizations and businesses dedicated to the promotion of research, education and leadership capacity in Canadian agriculture.
Nuffield Canada allows innovative Canadians the chance to explore issues and opportunities across all aspects of modern agriculture and food production. Scholars gain access to the best production, management and marketing systems in the world, and to a growing international Nuffield network that spans the globe.
Upon completion of their research project Nuffield Scholars are required to share the knowledge they gain for the betterment of Canadian agriculture. Nuffield Scholars are much sought-after employees, speakers, board members, advisors and mentors.
